Swing by for a bite, check out the art, and see my latest work in a fun, relaxed setting.

PLEIN AIR PAINTING AT THE FARM!

JULY 30, 2024
It's been a while (too long) since I've posted news, but I've been keeping busy! I had the AMAZING opportunity to go plein air painting with the
CAPRAC (Conseil des Arts Prescott Russell Arts Council) art group at Fiat Farms recently! It was so good to get out and paint, and to connect with other local artists. I may take my paiting and do a little finishing in the studio later. Looking forward to doing this again!

Did I mention I love teaching art? This is another student highlight that I wanted to share. This amazing piece of artwork was created by my 10 year old student Layne. Congratulations Layne, on your superhero-rific coloured pencil piece!

A Coffee & Canvas First!

MAY 6, 2016
My "Coffee & Canvas Night" was a great success! It involved a step-by-step two hour group session where we transformed blank canvases into a floral masterpiece! It was a fun-filled night of food, painting and laughter! Beautiful paintings with beautiful ladies...and some delicious desserts too! Thank you to everyone who came, and made my first night a wonderful evening!

Staying Busy and Loving it!

APRIL 21, 2016
Just wanted to show a couple recent pieces I've done! The first is a commissioned pet portrait that I just finished of a dog called Razor. After having lost our own beagle a few weeks ago, I'm happy to create paintings for pet owners that leave a lasting memory. I also recently finished a painting entitled "Maple Woods" that will be for sale at the Russell craft show I'll be attending this coming weekend. You can check out a higher resolution image of both of these paintings on my Gallery Page.

My husband and I are so proud of our twelve year old son, Grant. He worked very hard to create this amazing '57 Corvette for his Grandpa! Great job Grant, we are so proud of you! It's never too early to nurture your children's love for art, and I'm so glad our children love to express themselves artistically!

I just finished another Memory Canvas work this past week – commissioned by a wise husband as a surprise for his wife's birthday! She loved it! What a unique gift for a loved one and I'm so happy I could help bring a smile to some faces! I've entitled it "Memories for Meaghan", a 16x20 oil painting on canvas.

A Beautiful Memory

MARCH 14, 2016
We recently said a broken-hearted goodbye to our faithful dog, Shiloh. As a keepsake, I did his portrait in pastel (8x10) with his tag glued to the frame. He will be greatly missed by our family. If you would like a portrait of your family pet, please contact me. I would love to create something for your family as well.

The Story Behind "A Walk Down Oldford Lane"

MAY 7, 2015
I recently finished a painting for one of my clients and wanted to share the story behind the painting. "A Walk Down Oldford Lane" is a special type of painting I do called a Memory Canvas; which is a nostalgic still life showcasing a collection of people's favourite things or family heirloom items. I LOVED doing this painting and wanted to share this video with others who may be thinking of getting one of their own!

The Ottawa Art Association Spring Art Show

Finishing the Year with a Bang!

DECEMBER 23, 2014
WHAT A YEAR! As I reflect on all that's happened, I marvel at how life has changed. The dream that was my studio is now a reality. The doors to my studio opened just a few weeks ago, and I'm thrilled to be teaching local art enthusiasts from our community. Just this past week, I finished a commission painting that reminded me of why I fell in love with painting in the first place. I am so grateful to be ending 2014 on a nigh note, and so filled with excitement over what the coming year will bring! Merry Christmas to each and every one of you and Have a Fantabulous New Year!

Open House is a Success!

NOVEMBER 1, 2014
Thank you to everyone who came to my Open House and helped make this an incredible day! I was so happy and pleased at how well the studio has been received in the community! Looking forward to getting started with art lessons with several people!

Keep the Camera Handy!

OCTOBER 20, 2014
This past weekend my husband and I took a trip to New Hampshire and made a few stops along the way to take some photos of the incredible scenery. Some of these images will make great reference photos for future paintings, I'm always on the lookout for references to use in my work. I absolutely LOVE the autumn scenery this time of year and wanted to share some of these with you!

The Dream Becomes Reality

AUGUST 15, 2014
Having recently moved to Embrun, we've been busy remodeling and renovating our home to accommodate a home art studio. As we are busy getting the house ready, my husband, a long-time marketer, graphic designer and overall creative genius has been designing marketing materials (and this website) to arm me and help make my dream a reality. We are so grateful to be here and excited for the future as many, many details come together!
